Meet Heather!
Voice / Piano / Musikgarten
Heather Tipps has been submersed in music for nearly her whole life, and is passionate about helping other developing musicians discover their talents, grow in their skills, and achieve their goals. From her own past experiences as a student taught by multiple music teachers since the age of 7 though adulthood, Heather has pulled together innovative learning techniques that adapt to diverse learning styles in order to meet the unique needs of each of her students. To her, watching the lightbulb turn on in a student’s mind as they achieve a new technique or concept is a thrilling experience. She loves how music provides the ability to express feelings, stories, and messages in a way that everyone can understand and be moved.
Heather currently holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Nelson University, where she performed in choirs and worship teams for various audiences. She has coached students in private lessons for years, and additionally has directed choirs for all age groups, from children to middle school to high school and adult. She has also directed multiple children’s musical plays and dramas and is a licensed and certified Musikgarten instructor. When she isn’t teaching at En Route Academy, Heather can be found playing piano and singing with her church band and at home, choir directing, or spending time with her husband, children, and family.
