Meet Madeline!
Painting / Realistic Drawing / Cartooning / Digital Art
Hi, I am Madeline (or Maddie)! From a young age, I have always had a passion for the arts in all of its different mediums. It was a way that I could totally express myself, and art has always made me happy! I was always excited to draw and took art classes all throughout my school years since I enjoyed it so much. As I got older, I started taking art more seriously and honed in on my skills by seeking out extracurricular art instruction, taking an art summer camp and watching numerous YouTube videos. To me, art was easier than any other subject; it came to me naturally and was my favorite pastime. After my last art class my senior year of high school, I started trying to find my own style and pursue art as my living.
I am currently well on my way to earning my degree in studio art at DBU. After I graduate, I plan to become an art therapist and continue teaching art to make a difference and help others in a way that only art can! I found out about En Route Academy through the head of the art department at my university, was able to substitute teach some of the art lessons and summer art camps here every once in a while, and I loved it! I am so excited to be one of the regular weekly teachers here now. I love teaching students about art, how they can express themselves freely through it, and how to develop their individual technique and style. I aim to educate them on the importance of enriching our lives with art!
When I am not teaching or creating my own art to sell or fulfilling art commission requests, I am usually volunteering at an animal shelter!
