Meet Randal!

Drums

Hi everyone!

My name is Randal Price, and I’m excited to share my journey with you. I was born and raised in Texas but moved to Ellis County in 2021 to start fresh and become more actively involved in my church community. After trying out a few different jobs and spending two years working for the sheriff’s office, I realized I wanted to pursue a career that aligned more closely with my passions. That’s when I made the decision to step away and take a new job that has allowed me to pursue my love for drumming more!

Drumming—and music as a whole—has been a part of my life since I was five years old. While much of my learning was originally self-taught when I was growing up, I eventually picked up valuable skills and more formal instruction from my band experiences during middle school, high school, and college. This hands-on experience over the years has allowed me to truly master the art of drumming. I’ve been blessed with opportunities to play in various settings—at church, with different bands, and across several genres of music. Whether it’s worship, country, rock, jazz, hip-hop, or pop, my experiences have given me the versatility to play it all.

However, my journey hasn’t always been smooth. At age six, I was diagnosed with a medical condition called cholesteatoma, which left me partially deaf and required a titanium prosthetic ear bone on my right side. Enduring 16 surgeries, I faced many struggles, but my passion for drumming never faded. In fact, I believe that it only grew stronger. I credit God for giving me the strength to persevere and for blessing me with the ability to continue playing despite the challenges.

Now, I’m excited to be teaching at En Route Academy of the Arts where I can share these skills and experiences with others. I’m looking forward to inspiring the next generation of drummers! God bless!
